Beyond Your Imagination
I met Charlie in a coffee house. He started telling me about his life as an artist, living celibate and in a van for the last 20 years in dedication to creating his legacy piece of work; a Gabon ebony table he has kept in storage until now, as he is finally ready to sell.
One afternoon, I sat with him at his storage unit as he agreed to show me the table. We had many conversations, and I often felt like I was seeing a version of myself in him, relating to many of his artistic struggles and life choices. He showed me the table and other pieces of work and recounted his history to Carissa and I.
The footage below was recorded as he began talking off the cuff as the three of us sat in the hallway of the facility.
